About Chaffin Luhana

Chaffin Luhana LLP is a national plaintiff trial firm built on one simple belief:
real change happens in the courtroom.

For more than fifteen years, our lawyers have led high-stakes jury trials and national litigations involving defective products, catastrophic injuries, rideshare sexual assaults, pharmaceutical harms, and other mass torts. We are known for our relentless preparation, emotional storytelling, and results that create both justice and accountability.

We’re expanding our National Trial Team—the group that goes into the courtroom, tells the story, and wins verdicts that move the needle for clients and communities nationwide. We are looking for a partner or senior associate to join our trial team as a lead trial lawyer.

About the Role

This is not a paper-pushing litigation position. This is for a trial lawyer—someone who thrives in the courtroom, connects with juries, and leads from the front.

You will try cases across the country in both state and federal court—cases involving product-defects, catastrophic trucking crashes, sexual assaults, and other headline-making matters. You’ll conduct voir dire, cross experts, deliver opening statements, and tell human stories that drive verdicts. You have a thirst for learning and perfecting your trial skills, and are committed to workshopping and focusing cases to deliver the best results at trial.

You’ll collaborate directly with our current lead trial lawyers, psychodrama coaches, and storytelling consultants to frame safety rules, build themes, and craft narratives that win. You’ll have the backing of a national infrastructure—investigators, jury consultants, social workers, and visual designers—to let you focus on what you do best: trying cases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead or co-lead jury trials from voir dire through verdict.

  • Develop safety rules, themes, and story structure with trial teams and consultants.

  • Conduct focus groups and mock trials to refine narratives and frame issues.

  • Cross-examine corporate representatives and expert witnesses.

  • Take and defend high-value depositions with precision and purpose.

  • Oversee trial-day operations: witness prep, exhibit management, jury monitoring.

  • Mentor rising litigators and trial lawyers on the art and science of persuasion in trial depositions and in front of juries.

  • Contribute to case strategy and national MDL bellwether development.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar membership.

  • Minimum six years of litigation experience with multiple jury trials tried to verdict.

  • Exceptional storytelling and advocacy skills—authentic, fearless, and persuasive.

  • Significant experience in product-liability, mass-tort, catastrophic-injury, or similar plaintiff work strongly preferred but more limited plaintiff experience combined with experience in trying cases as a prosecutor or public defender considered.

  • Ability to manage teams under pressure and perform in high-stakes settings.

  • Strong alignment with Chaffin Luhana’s Core Values:
Results Driven | Excellence Without Paralysis | Compassionate and Authentic | In It Together | Innovative Growth.

Why Join Our National Trial Team

  • Try real cases. You’ll be in the courtroom or taking trial depositions regularly—crossing experts, arguing motions, and connecting with juries.

  • Elite support. Dedicated paralegals, medical analysts, social workers and data researchers power your preparation.

  • Culture of purpose. We win not for headlines but for human stories—and every verdict helps change how corporations behave.

  • Growth and mentorship. Work directly with nationally recognized trial lawyers, learn advanced psychodrama and storytelling methods, and develop into one of the best in the country.
