About:

Ready to supercharge your legal career?  We're seeking a motivated and innovative paralegal in Connecticut who wants to hone their litigation and trial para skills.  This isn't just any paralegal position - this is an extraordinary chance to work directly with one of our lead trial lawyers (a former federal prosecutor and seasoned trial lawyer) on focus groups and high-stakes product liability, MDL and personal injury trials in federal and state courts across the country.  You'll dive into meaningful casework while building essential skills that will propel your legal career with a firm who is “Doing Good by Doing Right.”

Responsibilities:

  • Master of Case Management: Take command of litigation and trial case workflows in our electronic management system and AI platforms.  Drive deadlines for discovery, filings, and trial orders to keep the trial team organized and on track for trial.

  • Trial Preparation Virtuoso: Prepare and organize case files for depositions and trials for a limited group of cases set for trial, as well as work closely with the lead trial lawyer in setting up and conducting focus groups and big data jury research. Manage travel for the trial team along with our in-house travel coordinate and EAs, orchestrate courtroom technology, and coordinating witness travel, subpoenas, and preparation.

  • PowerPoint Maven: Showcase your creative talents with trial presentations.  Your PowerPoint expertise will be crucial as we create stunning summary exhibits, demonstrations, focus group presentations, and visuals for openings/closings that captivate judges and juries. If you don’t currently work in PowerPoint (or AI platforms that are just as good), don’t worry, we will train you—but you have to have an interest in learning the latest technology and working with the trial team to hone their presentations.

  • Expert Witness Coordinator: Screen and prepare expert witnesses on mechanism of injury, causation, damages, and more, and ensuring the expert’s reliance materials are timely produced - becoming the vital link between our legal strategy and expert testimony.

  • Focus Group Guru: Take charge of organizing and recruiting for our remote and in-person focus groups using the exclusive Chaffin Luhana process. Track feedback, manage responses, and lead participants to provide invaluable insights.

  • Administrative Rockstar: Provide stellar administrative support, scheduling, and organizational assistance to the lead trial lawyer (along with his personal remote EA), ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.

Qualifications:

  • Eager to learn, fully embraces technology (we are AI and data driven), extremely organized and efficient and willing to self-reflect and grow

  • Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate preferred

  • 1-3 years in a legal environment (personal injury experience is a plus)

  • Eagle-eye attention to detail and exceptional organizational prowess

  • Communication skills that will blow us away both verbally and in writing

  • Tech-savvy proficiency with legal software and MS Office applications

  • Genuine compassion that resonates with clients facing challenging circumstances
